MARKETING RESEARCH ASSISTANT
 

The Research Assistant works on a project team, supporting a project manager or director in delivering customer insights, market data and other data to a variety of clients. The primary role of the Assistant is to provide general research support to the team, such as testing and coding data collection instruments; maintaining/organizing/quality checking data, administering surveys and providing other project support such as documentation, client meeting support and coding of respondent comments. This is a great starting role for a recent graduate of an associates or four-year college program who is interested in the field of research and customer experience. The Assistant who learns additional research methods and is good with data analysis can be promoted to Research Junior Analyst.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a team member on project teams responsible for delivering marketing research insights
  • Work with internal staff and outside companies to collect data per required schedules
  • Program and test questionnaires
  • Code and present customer narratives to support numerical information
  • Review data sets and documents to ensure accuracy and quality standards
  • Coordinate the administration of surveys from start to finish
  • Participate in client calls and discussions about delivering client value
  • Requesting quotes and schedules from contractors and consultants
  • Stay abreast of email protocols and best practices for increasing response rates


Qualifications

  • Comfortable working with data: organizing, processing, analyzing, quality checking
  • Due to federal government data security requirements, must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Extreme attention to detail, including data accuracy, spelling, grammar, punctuation and graphic layouts
  • Methods and mindsets to manage to tight deadlines across different projects
  • Academic or work experience working with data sets in Excel, SPSS or other applications
  • Known as a self-starter with initiative and grit
  • Interested in marketing research as a profession
  • Experience coordinating tasks and activities to meet deadlines
  • Strong English language speaking and writing skills
  • Ability to learn new software and tools
  • Previous work with quantitative surveys or SPSS skills a plus
 

**Full time position, remote work with quarterly trips to Palo Alto, California
